This 3DS version of Shinobi III is a spectacular way to play the Genesis classic. |

Your buddy Clayton got around to playing another classic SEGA title converted to stereoscopic 3D for the 3DS. I remain as effusive in my praise of this series of ports as ever. They look stunning in 3D mode, and they are faithful, highly-functional ports of classic games besides.
Shinobi III is a game I’d long desired to play through (I bought this version of it years and years ago). It’s beautiful and fun with varied environments and fun ninja gameplay, but I just never sat down and beat it.
The combination of an announcement of a gorgeous, intriguing new Shinobi title and the fact that I had my 3DS with me on my recent travels got me to finally play it again. The fact that the 3DS version features unlimited continues ensured that I’d finally beat it.
It’s swell, and I think this is a splendid way to play it. I can’t wait to see what the lovely and talented Streets of Rage 4 folks cook up with the new game, and I’m just glad to have finally finished one in this series. Maybe I’ll knock a couple more off the backlog before it drops.
