This prompt made me realize there aren’t all that many truly excellent final boss themes! Few that I could think of anyway. Persona 4 has a really great final boss theme, but I wanted to diversify a bit since I’ve already done two Persona songs. Dedede’s theme isn’t too great a concession! It’s a good fit for the classic boxing ring match between Kirby and the eponymous former antagonist. The original version from Kirby’s Dream Land doesn’t feature the cool B section that’s introduced in Kirby Super Star, but it’s as solid foundation nevertheless. And regardless, the playlist above includes every single official version of the piece ever to appear in a game! DSC’s cover is pretty fun too, give it a look.
